New Delhi, August 6, 2024— IndiGo, India’s leading airline, is set to introduce business class seats from mid-November, marking a strategic shift from its traditional ‘no-frills’ approach to attract premium travelers. The announcement was made by CEO Pieter Elbers during the airline’s 18th anniversary celebration on August 5.
Initially, the new business class service will be available on 12 major domestic routes. IndiGo will offer this premium experience at an introductory price of Rs 18,018.
Elbers highlighted that bookings for business class seats will commence on August 6, starting with the high-demand Delhi-Mumbai route. “From tomorrow, passengers traveling between metro cities will have the option to book business class seats on IndiGo flights,” he stated. The airline plans to extend this service to all major metro cities from the national capital in the coming months.
This move signifies IndiGo’s commitment to diversifying its offerings and enhancing the travel experience for a broader customer base. The introduction of business class is expected to position IndiGo competitively in the evolving aviation market, appealing to both business and leisure travelers seeking added comfort and exclusive services.
